Can I pay via recurring subscription?

NO, not yet, but we’re hoping to introduce it in the future at some stage.

If it is introduced, you will be able to decide if you’d like an automatic subscription, or whether you’d prefer to have manual control to pay each month on our website yourself.

So in the meantime, you need to log on and book (pay) each month to stay enrolled. We’ll remind you with an email when it’s due.

If you’d prefer, you can pay for multiple months in the 1 booking (See FAQ above), so that you don’t have to log on every month to pay.

How long is a class? How much is a Class?

A standard Junior Kids class (from 2 years + to 5 years) is a 30 minute action packed, dance, music and drama class and costs $10.

A Tinies class (from 18mths to 2 1/2 yrs) is a 15 minute class full of dancing, music and drama fun and tailored to suit this younger age. The cost is only $5.

Our Hall class cost $12 for 30 minutes. (There is a surcharge to cover the cost of the hall rental).

What do we do in a DanceAlong Class?

We call our classes Dance Adventures! Each week we take the children on an exciting interactive and engaging exploration of a theme. A highlight of each class is our Tactile Learning Activity time, when each child can get hands on with an interesting prop, such as puppets, ribbons, parachutes, balls, hoops, instruments and many more. Our Special Things always tie in with the adventure at hand and develop children’s motor skills whilst delighting them at the same time!

There are many exciting themes explored over the huge 65 lesson curriculum:

  • Island Hula
  • Fans of Asia
  • Things on Wheels
  • Robots on the Moon
  • Samba Carnival
  • Five Senses
  • Things with Wings
  • Mexican Maracas
  • Teddy Bear Dancing
  • Drums of Africa
  • Australian Country
  • Healthy Bodies
  • Bells of Europe
  • Circus Tricks
  • Dinosaur Dancing
  • Elephants of India …

We revisit each theme 3 times within a unit, so the children experience the joy of remembering those dances and topics and each time there are different Special Things for the theme and a slightly different adventure.

It’s a very Multi-Cultural educational, exciting and engaging program for the children!

Do we have concerts at DanceAlong?

The main purpose of DanceAlong classes is to help develop your child in a number of areas, motor skills, social skills, cognitive skills, to aid in preparation for school and life.

We do however note that parents appreciate the opportunity to watch their child enjoying the dancing fun.

There are a number of ways for you to observe your child in action.

  1. Come along to a class to see what’s happening.
  2. Read your weekly Class Newsletter and talk to your child about what happened this week. We often have reports of children showing their parents little songs or dances at home.
  3. CONCERTS

So, yes we have a small concert at the end of the year at your Child Care Centre. Your instructor will let you know the date towards this time of year.

There is no cost for this centre concert and we provide the costumes free of charge!

There may be other opportunities to see your child perform throughout the year such as:

  1. Mid year concerts – some times an instructor might announce a mid year concert to showcase the learning at the end of a unit or term. Once again, your instructor will let you know if and when these occur.
  2. Fetes – occasionally we are invited to dance at a Fete, so stay tuned to any emails inviting children to such fun events. Once again we provide the costumes free of charge.
  3. PANTOMIMES. Occasionally we announce a hall Pantomime, which is a special opportunity to see your child dance on stage with a larger group of children. Our Show Team performs most of the original DanceAlong Pantomime action for the children to Dance Along with in the Hall. We invite groups of children up onto stage, throughout the Pantomime, so that they too can have their chance to dance for their family and friends. These events incur an entry fee, but once again we provide the costumes FREE of charge!

If for some reason on the day of the concert, your child decides against performing, please support your child in that decision and let them watch the others and perhaps dance along near you instead. Sometimes very young children especially may do this. If you don’t make a big deal out of their not wanting to dance, we usually find that in subsequent concerts, they gain confidence and are more likely to then join in with the concert fun.

How do I find out what's happening in my child's class?

There are a number of ways for you to observe your child in action.

  1. Read your weekly Class Newsletter and talk to your child about what happened this week. We often have reports of children showing their parents little songs or dances at home. If you’re not receiving this weekly Newsletter, check your Junk mail, and if not there, please call Head Office on 0410 578 649
  2. Check the DanceAlong Notice board at your centre for notes and Class in Action Pictures.
  3. Visit a class to see the action for yourself.
  4. Ask if your instructor is keeping a PRIVATE FB group for class updates. Some centres allow this and some don’t, so not every class will have one, but contact your instructor if this is something of interest to you.
